5 Point Plan

Matt Richter has a 5 point plan for Parry Sound - Muskoka!

It’s no secret—Doug Ford’s obsession with Toronto has left communities like ours behind. While the government pours money into GTA highways and luxury spas, Parry Sound–Muskoka is left asking: What about us?

Every election we hear promises of big things to come. While Doug Ford and Graydon Smith announced funding for our two new hospitals in Muskoka, we’re heard crickets since. While life in Parry Sound get more expensive, Doug Ford is giving election handouts to billionaires

We don’t need another political gimmick. We need real leadership. We need someone who knows that communities, like ours, are the backbone of Ontario’s success.

I’ve spent the last 17 years of my life listening and fighting for the things that really matter. I was with the people of Burk’s Falls when they lost their hospital/healthcare clinic. I’ve marched with my fellow teachers as they fight for smaller class sizes for our kids. I’ve watched as Doug Ford sold out main street leaving small businesses owners to fend for themselves. And I see the impacts that climate change is already having on our lives and our kids’ futures.

That’s why I’m proud to introduce my 5 Point Plan for Parry Sound – Muskoka — a plan that puts people before politics and focuses on what matters most to our families, our communities, and our future. A plan informed by the tens of thousands of conversations I’ve had with you, the people I represent.

Matt Richter’s 5-point plan for Parry Sound–Muskoka is about investing where it counts:

Investing in Rural Healthcare

→ by fighting for two new hospitals in Huntsville and Bracebridge that serve the needs of each community, and recruiting more family doctors so the 20,000 people in Parry Sound – Muskoka without one can have better care close to home.

Helping You Save Money

→ by getting Ontario back in the business of building affordable homes and rentals and helping you save money on heating, and support for local businesses hit hard by tariffs.

Protecting Our Environment

→ safeguarding our watershed, working with Indigenous communities to conserve 30% of natural areas by 2030, and supporting our forestry industry.

Funding Rural Infrastructure and Municipalities

→ because our roads, bridges, and local services deserve long-term investment, not short-term fixes.

Investing in Our Kids

→ clearing the backlog in school repairs, supporting students with special needs, and extending OHIP to cover mental health care.

This isn’t just a plan—it’s a promise to put you first.
