FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BRACEBRIDGE, ON: Matt Richter’s bold environmental plan is earning key endorsements, underscoring the urgent need for real action—not just talk—on protecting Parry Sound–Muskoka’s natural heritage.

“Ontario’s upcoming provincial election will be a consequential one for the province and for Canada’s fight against climate change. Matt Richter is a strong environmental advocate and has repeatedly demonstrated his commitment to protecting the people in his community by standing up for the water and forests that make Parry Sound–Muskoka so special. I urge voters in Parry Sound–Muskoka to protect the places they love by voting for him in this election.” – David Suzuki, Canadian academic, science broadcaster, and environmental activist.

“The long term prosperity of our economy and business sectors depends on changes to the way we use our watersheds. The Ford government is ignoring local efforts to make these changes but Matt Richter will make a difference in Parry Sound-Muskoka as well as adding to the common sense voices of Aislinn Clancy and Mike Schreiner in Queen’s Park.” – Kevin Trimble, Muskoka Watershed Council, Director, Past Chair
Parry Sound–Muskoka is home to some of Ontario’s most breathtaking natural landscapes, but reckless policies and unchecked development threaten to destroy them. From deteriorating watersheds to outdated forestry practices, our environment needs urgent action—not empty promises.
Matt Richter’s plan will:
Maintain our high quality environment by supporting our municipalities and business sectors in developing multi-disciplinary watershed management tools that incorporate climate solutions.
This includes establishing an independent task force made up of experts that are aware of provincial, national and international forest industry trends to competitively position Ontario in this globally competitive sector.
Working with Indigenous communities to conserve our natural areas through co-management and sustainable resource planning
Integrating sustainable forestry with natural resource and water management
The Ontario Greens are leading the charge to protect the environment with real, science-based solutions that balance conservation and economic sustainability. Matt is committed to fighting for strong policies that protect our region for future generations.
